We chose this vibrant city pub for our wedding reception venue. The stylish private dining room allowed us to have a lovely sit down lunch in the day for 40 guests and another 30 people joined us in the evening for a knees up. Many of us stayed at the hotel in the beautifully appointed bedrooms making the occasion flow beautifully. Jade helped us plan our special day from the outset, tailoring the menu for us and helping us to work within our budget, nothing was too much trouble for Jade and the team, we even hired the dining room again for lunch the following day to wrap the occasion up. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend the City Gate as a perfect location for a stylish city wedding venue.

Wedding Stay

Everything we discussed was executed to perfection and the entire team working at our wedding was brilliant. The food was amazing and many of our friends still bring up the insanely good buffet we had in the evening. Jon was like a ninja all day, on top of every detail and miraculously available instantly for any questions or support. Because of him, Andy and the team we had our dream wedding. Everyone had a wonderful time and they still talk about how effortless and relaxed it all felt, making the wedding personal and enjoyable for all.

Wedding Review

We very recently had our evening reception at The City Gate hotel and booked out the majority of the hotel rooms for the event. The staff were incredible and went above and beyond to make sure we were well taken care of and had everything we needed. Even running to the shops when I forgot things. The rooms were comfortable, clean and had everything we needed and more. The food was incredible and we got so many compliments on it from our guests, the bar staff made the evening do so much fun and took care of everything. Jon the event coordinator was amazing and made our day so special. He helped me every step of the way to make sure everything was perfect and we could not of pulled it off without him. 100% recommend this venue for any event or even to pop in for some food.

It all went perfectly

Me and my newly wedded wife held our wedding reception here a few weeks ago, and everything was just perfect!!

We visited initially a year ago, checking out various venues to hold our reception here, and everything fit the bill (seperate area for afternoon dining, private downstairs cellar bar for the evening). Throughout the next year, Jon the events manager helped us plan and organise everything and make our ideas a reality.

Fast forward to the big day, and it all went perfectly! The food was outstanding, the staff were all wonderful, and all of our guests had a fabulous time. Jon truly went above and beyond to make our day run as smoothly as possible.
