We know that wedding planning can be stressful but with our Events Manager Jon you are in the safe hands! Picture your wedding reception with friends and family in our stunning Gallery room, a light spacious space with the access to our Secret Garden and private patio. Truly a perfect place to have your three course wedding breakfast and to raise a glass to new beginnings.

You could then lead your party downstairs into our stylish, bare brick Cellar Bar for the ultimate celebration. Whether you want a DJ, live band or your own personalised playlist, we can cater for it all.  Our space is completely private, offering a private bar, friendly bar staff, delicious party platters and an exclusive dance floor.

With our 20 boutique rooms, you will have a perfect space to spend the day getting ready with your bridal party, having some pictures and bubbles and then when you are well and truly danced-out, you only have to go upstairs, rest and enjoy a beautiful breakfast in bed the following morning.

Perfect wedding venue

Our guests said they were completed wowed by the inside and the decor!  Those who stayed over also loved the bedrooms & the extra little touches like the port and fudge!

The food was amazing and the staff were very friendly and attentive and helpful throughout the day and night!

Loved everything about my day!

Everything about my day was perfect, and nothing was too much trouble for the staff at the City Gate.  The venue is beautiful, the food was delicious and the secret garden was sooo beautiful on a hot summer’s night

It all went perfectly

Me and my newly wedded wife held our wedding reception here a few weeks ago, and everything was just perfect!!

We visited initially a year ago, checking out various venues to hold our reception here, and everything fit the bill (seperate area for afternoon dining, private downstairs cellar bar for the evening). Throughout the next year, Jon the events manager helped us plan and organise everything and make our ideas a reality.

Fast forward to the big day, and it all went perfectly! The food was outstanding, the staff were all wonderful, and all of our guests had a fabulous time. Jon truly went above and beyond to make our day run as smoothly as possible.

Can we have our ceremony at City Gate?

Not yet – but watch this space. You can have a fantastic after-party though.

Can we decorate the pub?

Absolutely – We allow table decorations (these look fab) flowers – naturally – and helium balloons. Let us know if you would like recommendations.

Can we have an external caterer?

No, however our Head Chef Al would love to work with you to create the ideal food for your wedding.

Full menu choices, plus special dietary requirements are agreed 14 days in advance, so you’ve plenty of time.
